Roselawn Crematorium

The Irvine Family over the years observed changing preferences in our community including an increased request for cremation.  To better address the needs of families they wanted to ensure that this service was locally available and in 2002 established Roselawn Crematorium.  Prior to this, the choice of cremation for area families involved transportation out of town, in some cases to rather industrial-styled facilities.

Housed within the Irvine Memorial Chapel and Reception Centre at Roselawn Memorial Gardens, our crematorium was designed to meet the present day needs of families.  It incorporates an adjacent family room for a private farewell prior to cremation.  For those who wish, witnessing of the commencement of cremation is possible. The most up-to-date environmental monitoring is also incorporated in order that cremation is carried out with strict environmental controls. 

While a privately owned crematorium, please be aware that Roselawn will accommodate the request of any family no matter the funeral home you have chosen to carry out the arrangements. With the convenience of local availability, you are welcome to visit and inspect our facility at any time.

Roselawn Crematorium Unlike older crematories which are rather industrial in design, the Roselawn Crematorium provides a more dignified facility designed with families in mind.  Families who need greater peace of mind may even witness the cremation process from the adjacent witnessing room.

Cremation and the Environment Many choose cremation for environmental reasons.  Roselawn is one of a small number of Ontario crematories to have incorporated sophisticated monitoring equipment.  This allows our crematory technicians to carefully monitor the process to ensure provincially required operating requirements are maintained at all time.

Family Room While cremation can be carried out privately, it is always an option for the family to gather prior to the cremation.  In some cases this has provided for a private farewell before cremation.  In other cases, families have requested to be present as cremation commences.  We have provided a well appointed family room adjacent to our crematorium where these important needs can be met.
